A track produced by Kel-P, the Nigerian beatmaker behind many Burna Boy and Wizkid hits.
It is not a secret for anybody now, the bongo flava boss is more and more influenced by West African music. Indeed, while his track covers most of the musical codes of current Nigerian music, it should be noted that his last album A Boy From Tandale had already brought together stars from the continent: Davido, Tiwa Savage, Flavour and the legendary duo P-Square. Last week, the singer even delivered his own version of Wizkid’s hit “Joro”, entitled “Gere”.
As far as the video clip is concerned, the aesthetics are clearly worked on, bringing together many dancers and luxurious and lush settings. A way of letting only art speak for itself when Diamond Platnumz is in the middle of a controversy: indeed, the Brazilian singer IZA accused him of copying her video clip “Brisa” on his “Gere” visuals.
